A sparkling inspiration jewel with 40,000 capacity. The Education City Stadium is a remarkable location. It sheds a shining light on Qatar’s role as a vibrant center of learning for scholars and students throughout the Arab World and beyond.
Education City, where it gets its name, is a thriving hub of study and knowledge. The arena is strengthened by the nearby universities, whose hallways hum with fresh concepts and tales of cutting-edge research, expressing innovative talent.
The stadium’s ultra-modern layout effortlessly combines with traditional Islamic building styles. Triangles on the outside produce intricate geometrical patterns that glisten as the sun moves across the sky. A digital light show that illuminates the façade at night provides fans with an amazing surprise performance.
There are numerous world-class sporting and recreational facilities located close to the schools. More attractions will be added to the stadium precinct following the competition to keep the neighborhood and the academic community active and motivated outside of the classroom.
In June 2020, the stadium was officially opened as part of a virtual ceremony honoring those who provided front-line healthcare during the coronavirus outbreak.
The precinct already has Education City Golf Club, which in 2020 hosted the inaugural Qatar Masters, a European Tour competition. The precinct will have two schools, a health and wellness center, a shopping area, and a conference center when in heritage mode.
The stadium’s movable upper tier will be taken down, and the seats will be donated to a nation lacking in sporting facilities.
The stadium will develop into a center for local residents’ participation in sports, including faculty and students.
