A distinctively Qatari stadium that can compete with the best in the world.
The FIFA World Cup 2022TM Opening Match will take place in Al Bayt Stadium, which was guaranteed from the very beginning of the project. Qatar invited visitors to enjoy the customary comforts that custom has expected in this region for generations by turning to the rich fabric of its culture to welcome the world.
The stadium’s beautiful tent structure envelops an ultra-modern football stadium and was inspired by the bayt al sha’ar of Qatar’s nomadic people. The tents can be recognized by their distinctive black and white stripes. The vivid sadu designs that welcome visitors inside and the arena’s striking exterior both reflect this.
Al Bayt Stadium was built with sustainability in mind, and the upper deck was intended to be dismantled following the competition to enable the repurposing of seats.
A permanent legacy from the most hospitable stadium in the world is ensured by the numerous parks, lakes, and protected greenbelt area that reach from the stadium to the sea in the neighboring city of Al Khor.
The Al Bayt Stadium can be found at Al Khor, which is around 35 kilometers from Doha, Qatar. The stadium’s initial grand opening was in November 2021. It can fit 60,000 people in its chairs.
The stadium will host the following matches at the 2022 FIFA World Cup: 1 Round of 16, 1 Quarter-Final, 1 Semi-Final, 5 Group Matches (including the Opening Match), and 1.
