The home of the Al-Rayyan Sports Club and the Al-Kharitiyath Sports Club. Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, often known as the Al-Rayyan Stadium, is a multi-use stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar.
The stadium, which has a 40,000-person tournament capacity, will host six group-stage matches and one Round of 16 encounter.
The most prominent component of the stadium is a shimmering facade made up of designs that represent several facets of the nation: the value of family, the allure of the desert, the local flora and fauna, and local and international trade.
The fifth shape, a shield, unites them all and symbolizes the unity and strength that are especially important to the city of Al Rayyan.
The area will have a variety of sporting amenities, including a skate park, an athletics track, a children’s playground, outdoor exercise equipment, an aquatics center, tennis courts, and cricket and football fields.
In addition to the Mall of Qatar, which opened in 2016 and is located close to the stadium, there will also be manicured gardens, cafes, and pathways.
It is now used primarily for football matches. The stadium bears Ahmad bin Ali Al Thani’s name, who ruled Qatar as emir from 1960 until 1972. The former stadium, which had 21,282 seats when it was erected in 2003, was destroyed in 2015. There are 44,740 seats available at the brand-new Al Rayyan Stadium.
One of the eight stadiums being renovated for Qatar’s hosting of the FIFA World Cup in 2022 is the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium.
On December 18, 2020, Qatar’s National Day, and precisely two years before the nation hosts the 2022 FIFA World Cup final, the stadium was officially opened. One of two locations used for the 2020 FIFA Club World Cup was the stadium.

Home of Al Rayyan Sports Club, as mentioned, the stadium is an eco friendly one. The modular upper tier will be removed after the tournament, with the seats being repurposed into sporting facilities in Qatar and overseas.
Many of the materials from the deconstructed venue that once occupied this site – also named Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium – have been used in the new complex, including some which have been repurposed into public art installations.
More than 90 per cent of the construction materials have been reused or recycled.
To minimize harm to the environment, trees that originally surrounded the old arena have been saved for future regeneration.
In order to further reduce the stadium’s carbon footprint, energy and water efficiency measures have been implemented, and the Doha Metro link will provide easy access to and from the location. For the enjoyment of the neighborhood, the precinct will have 125,000m2 of green space together with native, water-efficient plants.
