Poland’s World Cup team for 2022 is anticipated to be announced in October, and manager Czeslaw Michniewicz has given some hints as to who would be in his squad for the Nations League games in September.

Later this month, Poland will compete against the Netherlands and Wales as part of their ongoing preparation for the main tournament in Qatar.

After coming in second place to England in their qualification group, Czeslaw Michniewicz’s team secured their spot in Qatar by defeating Sweden in the play-offs.

Poland will be participating in its ninth World Cup. They made their debut in 1938 but did not play again until 1974, when they came in third. Eight years later, in Spain, they repeated this performance.

Poland participated in the tournament in Russia four years ago, but they were eliminated in the group stage after dropping two of their three games.

It is simply not feasible to stage matches in Qatar at that time of year due to the extraordinary heat.

FIFA has informed all competing nations that they must name their squads by October 20, which is 30 days before the action gets under way. Czeslaw Michniewicz and his peers still have plenty of thinking time.

Most likely, Robert Lewandowski’s final World Cup will be this one. The Bayern Munich striker is still effective at the club level and will be eager to help Poland advance to the next round in Qatar.

Wojciech Szczesny, Grzegorz Krychowiak, Kamil Grosicki, and Kamil Glik will all contribute further experience. Lukasz Fabianski’s retirement from international football last year made the latter the undeniable No. 1 player for his nation as of this moment.

Jakub Moder, a midfielder for Brighton, will travel with Poland if he is healthy. Along with Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski, who will almost probably have a seat reserved on the flight to Qatar, he might begin the match in the engine room.

Player to watch

Both the Poland national team captain and a striker for La Liga club Barcelona, Robert Lewandowski. Lewandowski is regarded as one of the greatest strikers of all time and one of the most successful players in Bundesliga history because of his positioning, technique, and finishing. For club and country, he has scored more than 600 goals in his senior career. His reputation as one of the top players in the world is well established.

With Znicz Pruszków, Lewandowski led all goal scorers in the third and second tiers of Polish football. He then transferred to Lech Pozna, where he helped the team win the 2009–10 Ekstraklasa. He moved to Borussia Dortmund in 2010, where he earned accolades like two straight Bundesliga titles and the league’s top goalscorer award.

He participated in the 2013 UEFA Champions League Final with Dortmund. Lewandowski consented to join Dortmund’s domestic rivals, Bayern Munich, on a free transfer prior to the start of the 2014–15 season. In each of his eight seasons in Munich, he captured the Bundesliga championship. Lewandowski played a crucial role in Bayern’s 2019–20 UEFA Champions League victory as part of a treble.

Along with Johan Cruyff, he is one of just two players to win the European Triple while leading all three tournaments in goals scored, making him the first to accomplish this feat as the lone top scorer.

Poland’s World Cup team for 2022 is anticipated to be announced in October, and manager Czeslaw Michniewicz has given some hints as to who would be in his squad for the Nations League games in September.
